About the Project

The Free Analytics Tools project was created to make data analysis accessible, practical, and useful for educators, nonprofit leaders, and community organizations. Too often, valuable decisions get delayed or derailed because data feels overwhelming or requires expensive software. These free tools were designed to lower that barrier — giving you simple, powerful ways to explore, compare, evaluate, and forecast data with just a few clicks.

Behind these tools is Matthew B. Courtney, Ed.D., a national leader in evidence-based decision-making. With experience spanning the classroom, state policy offices, and national education networks, Dr. Courtney has built a career helping schools, nonprofits, and mission-driven leaders turn complex evidence into clear action. He is the founder of Lead with E3, where he teaches and coaches educators to apply the Evidence-Empowered Educator Method (E3) — a system built on research use, data analysis, and continuous improvement - and nonprofiteval.com, where he supports small to medium sized nonprofits with quality strategic planning and program evaluation. Dr. Courtney also serves as Chair of the Education Knowledge Broker Network, a national initiative committed to democratizing evidence use and advancing equity in education.

His work includes keynote speaking, professional training, consulting, and publishing, all aimed at helping leaders at every level make better decisions through research and data.

These free tools are part of his broader mission: to empower leaders with practical, evidence-based resources that remove barriers, spark insight, and improve outcomes.
